Camp YoliJwa Summer Camps

Camp YoliJwa is located in the rolling mountains of Doubling Gap, outside of Newville, PA. There are camps available for children entering the third grade and up through high school, as well as special activities for all ages during the year, both indoors and out. The camping experience has led many people to see Christ’s personal love for them - many lifelong Christian friendships have begun here. Check out the camp website at www.campyolijwa.org.  

Bridge Food Pantry

The Bridge is a food pantry that serves residents of New Cumberland, Lemoyne, and Camp Hill.  Volunteers operate monthly food distribution at the Senior Center in New Cumberland.  Food distribution is the third Friday morning of every month.  Food deliveries are also provided on a limited basis for those who are homebound.  More volunteers are always needed to help.  Ed Ulsh from our church is the volunteer executive director.  774-6255

Fall Church Retreat

Each year in October many members of our congregation take a weekend retreat to the beautiful hills north of Carlisle.  We spend the weekend at Camp YoliJwa.  We roast hotdogs and marshmallows at the  campfire, laugh a lot, enjoy the many recreational opportunities including an obstacle course, boating & fishing at Lake Henrietta, Frisbee golf, a double wide gymnasium, and much more.  Dorm rooms and hotel rooms are available.

New Hope Ministries

A Christian social service agency that shows the love and hope of Christ by serving our neighbors in times of need and supporting their efforts towards stability. We support New Hope and they provide a variety of assistance and services in the West Shore areas.

Community Aid clothing bin

We have a collection bin in the front of our parking lot along Reno Avenue.  Community Aid grants our church funds to be used in ministry, and also Care Cards for their Thrift Store.  We distribute the Care Cards to local residents that have a need for clothing & shoes.  We give Hillside Elementary School cards to give to students and their families.  Deposits into our bin average over 300 pounds each day.

• You can deposit shoes, linens, blankets, towels or any other cloth items in the bin.
• You can deposit clothing that is no longer wearable in the bin.  They are shredded (recycled) into padding for items such as mattresses.
• You can place non-cloth items in the bin, such as electronics, books, and small household items.
• If you know of anyone that needs clothes or shoes, we will give them a gift card. Just let our church know. 774-2112

Missions

Our church family supports missionaries and mission projects around the world.  From New Mexico and Arizona, to Sweden, India and Brazil, we truly do reach many peoples of the world with God’s Good News.  We support these varied programs through our monthly giving to our General Conference, as well as having personal contact with a missionary couple in Thailand, the Sarver’s.  We have sent mission teams to Appalchia (West Virginia), New Orleans, Galveston, the Boston area, Haiti, and the Midwest. Study Buddies

Teaming up with Hillside Elementary in the West Shore School District, each fall, we "adopt" approximately twenty of their 2nd-5th grade students and invite them into our Church Tuesday evenings for a tutoring session, hot meal, and one-on-one time with their "Big Buddy".  Many of our members have a background in education and work with children, but most of our "Big Buddies" just have a love for children....that is all that is required to be a Study Buddy Helper.  Study Buddies has been an on-going program for 15 years now.  The more Big Buddy volunteers we have, the more students we can invite...we are ALWAYS looking for new faces.

Santa’s Secret Shop

The Secret Shop is held every year on the first Saturday of December.  We provide reasonably priced items so that the children of our church and the community are able to shop for their family's Christmas presents.  A light lunch is provided and the children can visit and have their picture taken with Santa Clause.  The ages are from toddlers up to children who are in 5th grade.  There are many opportunities during the year to become involved in making items for Secret Shop.  We have regular sessions once a month to work on crafts and have a time of fellowship.  We encourage your participation. Ronald McDonald House of Hershey

The Ronald McDonald House of Hershey keeps children and families together by providing temporary housing to out-of-town families of seriously ill children who are being treated at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.  We collect magazines and aluminum can tabs at our church for the Ronald McDonald House.
